Detoxifying Pineapple Basil Smoothie

Ashlee’s husband said this one “smells like a salad but tastes amazing.” So, there’s that 🙂  The ingredients sound a bit weird, but the combination is surprisingly good!  Enjoy!!

  • A handful of fresh spinach or kale – two of the best superfoods for detoxing the liver and other organs in the body.
  • 1 small cucumber (skin and all) – helps to clean out the internal system, helps with cholesterol, and a loaded with vitamins.
  • 4-5 frozen chunks of pineapple – taste great, adds sweetness, contains anti-inflammatory properties, and aids in digestion.  Also known to help cellulite – BONUS!
  • 2-3 basil leaves – also helps to detox the liver
  • Coconut milk- approximately 1/2 cup
  • Protein powder of your choice  – helps to build lean, strong muscles
  • Lots of ice and water as needed to thin out smoothie
