Here’s a DIY Probiotic Power Mask for Depuffing and Exfoliating*
– 3 Tbsp plain Greek-style yogurt
– 2 Tbsp finely ground coffee
– 1 Tbsp coconut oil (optional)
Combine ingredients, mixing until you have a paste. Apply to clean skin using a gentle, circular cleansing motion. Let sit for 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water and a soft washcloth. Pat dry.
The beauty of this mask is that you can make it at home and probably already have the ingredients in your cabinets. Leading NY dermatologist Dr. Whitney Bowe explains in her book, The Beauty of Dirty Skin, “The caffeine in coffee grounds helps to reduce swelling and puffiness. The yogurt in addition to containing probiotics, acts as an emollient. The coconut adds moisture.”
So, what was our experience with the mask?
We felt less puffy and kinda tight! I needed moisturizer after, but my daughter felt moisturized. We both agreed that our skin looked fresh after! – Ashlee
