“Mom, I want this for Christmas” began a little too early for my liking this year. Maybe it’s the earlier than normal Thanksgiving, or the fact that Christmas decorations came out almost as early as Halloween decorations in some stores. But, whatever the reason, I started to get that familiar pit in my stomach – how can we make our tweens and teens understand that Christmas is just as much about giving as it is about receiving?
So, when I first heard Eryka Parker of Lyrical Innovations speak about Love on the City 2018, I knew this would be a great way to give back and remind our kiddos that many people need our love and support throughout Cleveland this holiday season.
On Saturday, December 1st, Love on the City volunteers will be tying donated hats and scarves along with letters of encouragement to poles throughout downtown Cleveland for people in need. Blankets will also be distributed. Volunteers are asked to meet at REBoL’s located at 101 W. Superior in Public Square at 1pm.
We are hoping for a lot of volunteers. There are strength in numbers. We want to bring people together to spread love around the city. – Eryka parker
Love on the City was launched by leaders Conrad and Nicole Huffman of Forever in the Making, a non-profit organization, along with Eryka Parker of Lyrical Innovations, LLC.
